New aerodynamic aircraft concepts enable the storage of volumetric liquid hydrogen (LH2). Additionally, low temperatures LH2 allow technologies such as superconductivity electrical components. An increased power density onboard wiring harness and machine can be expected. Nevertheless, electronic drive inverter has to deliver high switching frequencies (fPWMs) under challenging conditions. Therefore, knowledge electric behaviour different semiconductor materials cryogenic is essential answer question: "Are modern electronics a technology enabler or system bottleneck?" This publication shows comprehensive novelty study for based on experimental-driven investigations, mission profile-based considerations, requirement analyses superconducting machines, studies cooling concepts. All aspects are discussed within one interdisciplinary publication. A cannot considered without feasible concept. Different structures various (silicon (Si), silicon carbide (SiC) gallium nitride (GaN)) evaluated their suitability. The collected data literature review draw feasibility supported by detailed requirements. demand fPWM lead SiC non-cryogenic approach. Due assessment, loss reduction achieved optimising junction temperature (TJ) load cases (LCs) out profile.
